this is a special recipe. bcoz this happens 2 b one of my favorites. and in my last blog also i had given this recipe. try it guys..
will love it. not only it is tasty, but also damn easy for making. you can manage with almost all those normal cake making ingredients.and i got this recipe from a popular Bengali mag, but have changed according to my likings. m giving u the changed recipe here. try it and even u can change it and make your own, if u want.

ingrediants:

for the sponge:
1.            flour: 145gm
2.           butter 100gm
3.            eggs 2nos
4.            sugar 160gm
5.            yoghurt 1/2 cup
6.            baking soda 1/4tsp
7.            baking powder 1tbsp
8.            coffee powder 1tbsp
9.            choco chips 3tbsp
10.         coco powder 4tsp
 11.         chocolate essence 1tsp

or syrup:
1.            sugar 25gm
2.            water 1cup
for chocolate sauce:
1.            cream 200gm
2.            dark chocolate 100gm

layering:
1.            cream 100gm
2.            icecubes quite a few pieces

method:
1. sponge: 
·                     preheat oven @ 180degree centigrade.
·               beat the yoghurt well and keep aside.
·                     now mix melted butter with the sugar. i have mixed with a manual beater. or else you can se an electronic beater.
·                     now add in the other ingrediants and beat well for 10minutes.
·                     now grease the cake mould. if u want u cn sprinle a bit of flour on the mould. then put in the mixture in the mould and bake for 45mins @ 180degree centigrades.
·                     after the stipulated time take out the cake from the mould. and set aside to cool and then cut it in two layer

2. syrup:
put the sugar in the bowl and add water. boil at a low flame and keep moving the mixture. boil till it thickens a bit.

3. layering:
place the icecubes on a bowl. place another bowl over it and then beat the cream well. if you want you can make it a flavoured cream.( you can add in some ginger 0r some finely sliced red chillies to make it tinteresting and add that zing).

4. chocolate sauce:
·                     in a bowl put the cream and boil it at a low flame. 
·                     break the chocolate in small pieces and place on another bowl.
·                     now pour the boiling cream over the chocolate pieces and mix well, till all the chocolate dissolves.

5. assemble:
·                     first pour in the sugar syrup in both the cake pieces equally to make them soft.
·                     take the base of the cake and cover the top of it with the cream which we had beaten.
·                     now place the top piece on the bottom, and press a bit. dnt be hard while pressing as the sponge will be wet & tender.
·                     now pour in the chocolate sauce over this sponge, making sure even the sides are covered well with this yummy chocolate sauce.(i had used sour cream to stop it from being too sweet).
·                     now grate chocolate over this sauce covered sponge.
·                     and top it with a cherry to complete the decoration.
i have seen many people wanting their sponge to be smooth on top. but trust me i m madly in love with those cracks that develop on the surface. it gives a different homely texture to the cake. and flavouring the cream to be placed on the layer is a superb idea if you want to add that zing to your cake. please try it. it will give a very sweet ending to your year. and you will be able to welcum the new year in a sweeter way.
